The total number students is about 580, approx. 440 are normal day-school studens, age between 14 and 20 years and approx. 140 are evening-school students, from whom most of them are working in companies.

There are four different fields of study: Mechanical Engineering – Automation, Mechatronics, Business Informatics and Industrial Engineering. Our education is oriented towards practical and economic requirements. The school collaborates with different companies and enterprises.

We are constantly trying to develop new training methods and offer students possibilities to train not only their technical skills but also their personal competence. We aim to engage students in learning languages and practicing them. As many of them will be working in international companies after having graduated from school, we encourage them to go abroad, collect experiences and learn about other cultures and different ways of life.

Two very important strategic topics for further school development of our school are “Digitalization / Industry 4.0” and “Entrepreneurship Education for Engineers”. In both areas regional and international projects are ongoing. In November 2020 the HTL Wolfsberg got the European “Excellence in VET Award“ (VET Innovators Award) in the category “The Entrepreneurial School Award TES, JA Europe” and furthermore “The Entrepreneurial School 2020” award as one out of two schools in Austria.

The HTL Wolfsberg has already experiences with European projects since more than 10 years. In total the school participated in more than 10 European projects within the framework of Erasmus+ and Interreg (IT-AT & SI-AT). The school also encourage student exchanges and teacher study visits. It has a network of European partners that enables students to go abroad to work for an internship to get practical international experiences.
