Tool 01.3.1 Digital Online Learning

What does it mean? #

Online digital learning refers to the use of digital technologies and the Internet to deliver educational content. It includes online courses, webinars, virtual classrooms and interactive multimedia resources.

The learning process usually occurs synchronously: the trainer and the student interact instantly on the same platform or digital resource.

Students can access the training from anywhere, using an Internet connection. The contents are structured to host multimedia elements, quizzes and discussion forums to facilitate online interaction and collaboration processes.

Why recommended #

Pros #

– Students can access content from anywhere
– Availability of different multimedia elements
– Wide range of digital assets
– Asynchronous and synchronous learning
– Allows continuous content updates

Cons #

– Need to know and adopt specific techniques and tools to achieve interaction
– Some practical skills can be difficult to teach and assess online
– Technical barriers, such as internet connectivity, access, or device compatibility issues

How to use this methodology #

In education and training, online digital training can be used to encourage the development of skills and competences. Video lessons, interactive modules, e-books: these are just some examples of tools that can be used for online learning. Collaborative learning platforms can be used to stimulate interactive group discussions and to develop creative processes.

Work-Based Learning can benefit from online learning methodology. Trainers can create learning modules organized in online workshops, video courses (also on demand) which learners can access through different devices, such as PCs, smartphones, tablets. Virtual tutorials and mentorship programs help you impart practical knowledge and skills.

In the context of tutoring and support for work inclusion and job placement, digital online learning promotes access to resources available on the web useful for building strategies for accessing work: documentation, video lessons, interactive modules, etc. Digital online learning can enable individual or group mentoring sessions, for example using video conferencing and chats, remote collaboration and networking, online forums and social media integration.

Online digital training can be profitably used in the processes of supporting self-entrepreneurship and business creation, using learning platforms and applications that allow interaction, collaboration and networking.

Training #

– Allows remote participation in courses, webinars, workshops which can be accessed (using non-proprietary platforms) via devices connected to the internet
– Allows the online delivery and use (synchronous or asynchronous) of content (including live), video lessons, interactive modules
– Enables collaborative learning through the use of online communities

Work-based training #

– Allows remote participation in workshops and practical activities, accessing them via non-proprietary platforms and devices connected to the internet
– Enables the creation of remote demonstration and coaching sessions (via video conferencing and chat tools)
– Allows online learning of tasks and skills for the job, through tutorials and multimedia content

Tutoring and support for job placement #

– Allows remote participation in workshops and practical activities, via non-proprietary platforms and devices connected to the internet
– Enables the creation of remote, one-to-one or group coaching sessions, using video conference and chat tools
– Enables, through the use of forums and online communities, support sessions intended to active job searching and networking

Support for self-entrepreneurship and business creation #

– Allows remote participation in courses, webinars, workshops which can be accessed (using non-proprietary platforms) via devices connected to the internet
– Enables the creation of remote, one-to-one or group coaching sessions, using video conference and chat tools
– Enables, through the use of forums and online communities, support for the creation of professional paths and networking
